January 13th – “Calculated Steps”
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15
Being intentional is really as simple as having a clear idea of what you want to accomplish, really knowing why you have deemed it worth your time and effort, and identifying what steps you’re going to take each day that will ultimately move you closer to where you want your life to go. If it sounds simple, that’s because it is. However, don’t mistake simple for easy. It will take effort. Your decisions decide your destiny. The greatest thing God gave us is the power of choice. You have the power to decide. God is not liable or answerable for your destiny. He is the Designer, but YOU are the Decider. God gives you the blueprint and the material…
BUT THE FUTURE YOU EXPERIENCE IS THE FUTURE YOU CREATE…
And your future is not a mystery or a miracle. It’s a harvest, a product of what you have sown. Whether glorious or gross, you will reap what you sow. So, what are you sowing?
You have everything necessary to achieve your designed destiny within your capacity. We have the responsibility to live redemptively. God has redeemed you not just from sin and its penalty, but he has also redeemed us from an empty life. In other words, each moment and season of time is our opportunity and responsibility.
DON’T MISS YOUR PRODUCTIVE YEARS ACTING LIKE A FOOL!
Learn the importance of:
1. Time Management. There are two words in the New Testament for time. One word defines time in the way that most of us understand it. It’s a series of moments. But the other word for time is a season or an opportunity. USE THE OPPORTUNITY THAT TIME HAS AFFORDED YOU AND USE IT WELL!
2. Focus. What’s your highest and best use? FOCUS ON THAT. There are somethings that you do excellent. Focus on enhancing and maximizing those things. Then there are things you are just not good at and you will never excel until you face that fact and focus on growth in those areas. Stop throwing yourself a party and challenge yourself.
3. Self-Leadership. Self-leadership is also referred to as self-control” or “self-regulation. Basically, it’s the ability to regulate your emotions, thoughts, and behavior effectively in different situations.
Organize yourself. You can’t be disorganized and sloppy and think you will have increase. Successful people don’t float into their destiny, they take calculated steps. Knowing how many steps you are away from where you want to be and having a clear and a strong strategy to get there.
Reflect: What’s your strategy to become better this year?
